i hate american idol.
im not sure if it's just trashy or that everyone these days just has bad taste, and i am begining to suspect that its the latter. is this what our standards have been reduced to? a bunch of so called nobodies competing in a contest to see if some random group of assholes (the judges) think you are a good singer? the auditions are so obviously staged, and personally i think that some of the people who audition are a hell of a lot better then the generic jukeboxes of people they usually pick. they arent picking a person with talent, they are picking a product. everyone who wins in that show fits a standard voice. personally i would much rather listen to someone with a voice with character, who is making art instead of selling pepsi or a goddamn cell phone company. absolutly no effort goes into something like that. all they have to do is sing into a microphone and the computer edits the "flaws" in their voice and adds the music. whenever i so much as see and add for american idol on television my blood boils. i really am just appalled that some people can actually like this sort of thing. that they are dumb enough to actually believe it and let these people decide for them what is a "good voice" and what is a "bad voice" people like paula abdul and this simon asshole who as far as i know has no experience in the music *scary word* INDUSTRY. the music INDUSTRY. when industry is invoved it degrades music so much. And for some reason he thinks he knows just everything about what you are supposed to sound like to succead. Christ whatever happened to creativity. thats what they are doing. they make it seem as if playing music is as easy as drawing some stick figures on a piece of lined paper. im so angry how society has cheapened it.
those stupid bastards.
im just glad that i at least have enough sense to think for myself and i dont need a box filled with toned bodies and shiny smiles to tell me what to do.
