ive been doing some thinking about albums that have changed my life, so i decided it was about time to create a list of some of my *cue drum roll* favorite...albums...ever.(complete with cheesy, almost annoying commentary)
Now of course there would be more on this list if was to pull back and think of all the albums i just simply love, but these are albums that have changed the way i view music forever. albums that i will never tire of. here goes.

Sonic Youth-Washing machine: beautiful. Life changing, i have no other words to describe it. each song flows together nicely and instrumentally its truly just phenomenal.

Sonic Youth-Daydream Nation: My introduction to sonic youth. I had never heard anything like it before, at first i was hesitant to plunge into the world of sonic youth, i stayed on the edge, just skimming the first few minutes of every track, then it began to pull me in. i tell you i was never the same again.

The Pixies-Surfer Rosa: Never have i come across such grit and raw power. this being the maiden voyage of the pixies, each track has a certain mornful loneliness. its lovely.

The Velvet Underground-The Velvet Underground and Nico: Classic. When i first heard it i had no idea people wrote music like that in the sixties. there is nothing like it.

Lou Reed-Berlin: possibly the most depressing album in existance. pure genius.

The Arcade Fire-Funeral: Now, if any album changed my life this is it. I have wonderful associations with it and not only that its so charged, each song brings up so many emotions in me. Funeral is truly a work of art. (as they all are, but you know)

Joy Division-Substance: allthough its a complelation, it was my first encounter with joy division and it is the most wonderful collection of songs. all mildly self destructive and melancholy. magnificent.

I have probably listened to these albums the most out of all of them...allthough im sure there are many exceptions..these are all i could think of right now.

i agree 100%.

although... one could say that the list would continue. I would say (for myself at least) that the moon and antarctica was a life changing album. it allowed my to plunge into the depths of new music, to see outside of the condensed world of melody that i had been experiencing and to finally venture. i feel like if it weren't for that album i would be listening to utter crap right now.
